Who liberated greece from the axis during world war 2?

The Germans began withdrawing from Greece in late 1944 as the siutation on the eastern front threatended to cut-off German units in the Balkans. However, many of the Aegean Islands like Rhodes for example, remained occupied by the Germans until the war ended in May 1945. The Germans largely surrendered these Islands to British troops.
