What where some games played by children on the boat ride over to Ellis Island?

I am doing a project on immigration. I had to make a fake family and there journey to Ellis Island. The kids are seven and fourteen and they need something to keep them busy for these long hours of travel. What were some of the things children did to keep busy on the boat ride over? Please answer!
